Wilderness Medical Associates International is the leading provider of wilderness medical training for medical professionals and adventurous communities around the world.

For over 40 years, Wilderness Medical Associates International (“WMA”) has been teaching practical medicine to people who work in remote and difficult environments. The core curriculum is designed to provide the skills and insight needed to improvise, adapt, and exercise reasonable judgment at any level of medical training.

All course certifications are from WMA International;

• This course is pass/fail. 100% attendance is mandatory. Evaluation is based on practical patient simulations, hands-on activities, and a written test.
• Certifications are valid for three years. Graduates of this course should take another WFA course or consider upgrading to a higher-level course.
• Please review WMA’s Functional Position Description. The criteria in this policy allow students to self-assess their ability to meet the demands of a WMA International course as well as the demands of a certified wilderness medical provider in the field.
